Bathroom Renovation Plumbing in Grafton: What to Expect

28 July 20267 min readSteins Plumbing & Gas

A step-by-step overview of the plumbing side of a Clarence Valley bathroom renovation — from rough-in to final certification.

Stage 1 — Strip out and rough-in

Once the old bathroom is stripped, your plumber sets out and installs new drainage, water and gas lines to the new fixture positions. This is the ideal moment to upgrade galvanised pipework in older Grafton homes, add second showers, or run gas lines for continuous-flow hot water. Everything is pressure-tested before the walls close up.

Stage 2 — Waterproofing coordination

Waterproofing is a separate licensed trade in NSW, but the plumbing needs to be complete and inspected before it starts. We coordinate directly with your waterproofer and tiler to keep the project on track.

Stage 3 — Fit-off and certification

After tiling, we return to install tapware, toilets, vanities, shower screens and any gas appliances. On completion we issue a Certificate of Compliance for the plumbing and (where applicable) gas work — an essential document for insurance and future resale.
